Well, I'm sure this will piss off a ton of fans' parents like Zayn's one shirt did a long while back, but even more so since weed is illegal. The boys are looked at as role models and this is definitely not role model behavior.
Daily Mail seems to be the equivalent to what Star and OK! (I'm pretty sure there is a UK version of OK! too) are here in the States. Anyway, these publications love to highlight when celebrities are presented in a negative light since as people we apparently love to see them fall and fail. It is sick and twisted to think about.
Since I'm a journalist, I don't necessarily enjoy reporting on things of this nature, but it is part of the business. It's a huge deal to break a story like this since One Direction is held on a pedestal. People seem to forget they're five young men who are going to fuck up from time to time. I personally do not do drugs nor do I enjoy being around others who are involved in recreational drug use, but it's their choice to smoke blunts and get high before a gig. It's also their choice to film it (I find that to be incredibly stupid though). Just think, had Louis not filmed this, nobody outside of that van would ever know. Somehow someone got their hands on Louis' personal property and therefore this video has been brought to the masses, which is such an invasion of his privacy. It would suck if it winds up being someone close to him who leaked it. I would rather it be some crazy person who hacked his email and whatever else because to have your trust crushed by someone close to you doesn't sit well with me at all.

I agree with everything you just said. But I'm pretty sure this was done on purpose and released by their management. I mean maybe this is just me looking too much into the minor details but think about it; 8 ounces of weed is legal in Peru and the video was shot in Peru. Now, weed is illegal in Florida, but we all know they smoked there even though management said it was self rolled cigarettes. This is just my theory, I could be wrong. On a less serious note... OMG I'M DEAD. LIKE THEY ARE JUST SUCH GOOFBALLS AND OMG. Zayn's random singing and Louis just in general kill me. I'm more than amused and kind of turned on. Edit: p.s that should be grams not ounces

to be fair there's no proof it was anything but normal sigs they were smoking, louis might have just been joking about what he said so
either way i just think it's kinda funny tbh and maaaybe this will make some of the more naïve fans, like the ones who firmly believe the boys are all virgins who go to church every sunday, get their heads out of their asses

From a media background, their management team definitely would not release something incriminating like this especially considering who majority of their fan base is. Their management team wants them to have a squeaky clean image. It's ideal to be looked at with such grace. I'm pretty sure weed is completely illegal in Peru actually. I believe it is under 8 grams, which is way less than 10 ounces that is deemed acceptable there, but for the most part weed is definitely still illegal and if you are in possession of a large quantity you're going to have charges pressed against you. I'm actually really disgusted with how Louis was acting. I don't condone drug use and I definitely don't condone arrogance and he seemed to be quite arrogant in the video. I don't like how he referred to the cop as a bitch among a few other things he said. Zayn seemed to be so mellow. It's really interesting seeing how weed affects people differently. It didn't even seem like they smoked that much, but again, I don't use drugs nor care for being around people who do so I don't know. I'm interested in seeing how Louis and Zayn will respond to this being broadcast to the public now.

The situation will probably piss off the parents of the younger ones and people opposed to drug usage. But I think it'll blow over and probably won't be mentioned in interviews, though I honestly hope it is brought up because it really would be interesting to see how they'd handle a situation like this. Omg. This is like Justin Bieber 2.0, Zouis edition.

Omg. This is like Justin Bieber 2.0, Zouis edition. It's okay. I figured you might have made a typo. No worries! It definitely will anger parents. They're essentially the people fueling the boys' careers considering their daughters (and maybe sons too) are obsessed with One Direction. They're the ones buying the concert tickets for their kids and in some cases themselves since the kids might not be old enough to attend a concert alone. Plus all the merchandise you can think of from dolls to cups and so on. Of course there will be an uproar from parents. That's a given! It'll be just like when parents were outraged over Zayn's shirt like I mentioned before as well as when Niall said to the fans in the airport that they were a shower of cunts. I feel like the boys' PR team is definitely going to have rules set up of what could be asked in any upcoming interviews or the boys may be coached ahead of time so they can answer in some way. I interviewed them once when they first came over here to the States and they definitely had no media training, but now I'm sure they have had some and they may need more given this circumstance. If anyone truly thought these guys are perfect angels, they're absolutely naive. It's just a given that most celebrities get involved in things they probably shouldn't be involved in. I know the boys hate being called celebrities, but they are in that category. I hope they do respond. I think Louis should definitely apologize for his rude and disrespectful behavior since it has been made public. I don't look at them any different than I do the male friends I have, but they are obviously in the spotlight since they're in the world's most popular boy band so it should always be in the backs of their minds that they need to behave in appropriate manners even if they think they have privacy. I'm just really baffled Louis would make such an ignorant move to film that entire ordeal. It definitely wasn't smart on his part since look what has come of it. Liam has been compared to Bieber a handful of times by the media especially select teen media outlets so I wouldn't doubt if more comparisons are made now for Louis and Zayn. I will say this though, I think the guys of One Direction are much more grounded than Justin is. I feel like with Justin nobody ever really puts him in his place, but I feel like the guys of One Direction definitely do have the friends and family who will call them out on their bullshit.

I fall asleep for like an hour and while I sleep this happens!
Tumblr and Twitter are going ballshit crazy over this though, and it seems like the fandom's kinda split in two over this: those who aren't surprised at all about them smoking weed (because really, I thought everyone kinda already knew that) and those who are leaving the fandom because of this (srsly, get a grib).
I'm just very curious to know who leaked this and what the aftermath will be, because there will probably be some shit going down.

A reporter (Dan Wootton) for The Sun shared this an hour ago on his Twitter:
'A spokesman for 1D on Zayn and Louis video now online: "This matter is in the hands of our lawyers."'
Clearly the video was not supposed to be leaked.

They can smoke as much weed as they want hell I would if I had that kind of money and stress riding on my shoulders. But tbh I'm just annoyed with Louis' attitude like I know he's "sassy" but I probably would've punched him in the head if I was in that backseat with him.
Either way I hope this doesn't explode into something so huge for something so minor.

It may not be their fault the video leaked, but it was still filmed by them so they are responsible for their actions especially now that the public can view it. I just think it's totally stupid to film something like that whether you're a celebrity or not though. I'm not saying this to be rude to you, but it is blatantly stupid to do. Do drugs if you want. I'm not going to preach to you how it's wrong, but to film your illegal doings is quite irrational especially if you're in the spotlight like they are. As much as people like to say they are still humans and are entitled to their privacy, they aren't, which is unfortunate, but that's the way it is with all celebrities. Even for you though to have video footage smoking blunts is not the brightest idea. Let's say hypothetically a video of you leaks smoking a blunt when you're up for a huge job interview and the person interviewing you sees said video. That won't look good for you and you probably won't get the job. It's really just a matter of being smart. Smoke as many blunts as you'd like, but don't film it.
