blueeyedgirl i understand what you're getting at, but people aren't perfect and everyone makes mistakes. were you expecting them to carry this bubblegum sweet band image for the rest of their career? they're desperately tired of having to act according to a certain image, because that's what people expect them to do. as i said, people aren't perfect and yeah, it might me 'blatantly stupid' to film myself and my friends doing stupid shit, but hey, that's me, and that's my life and i'm glad i can act however i want and not have whiny ass people rudely tell me what i can do or not. i feel bad for them, really, because they're just trying to be how they truly are and to have the pressure of these thousands of little girls and their parents plus the management fucking with their heads. you don't agree with my opinion, that's a fact, i'm just surprised in how people reacted. it's not new, people are blatantly AWARE of 4/5 smoking, but they choose to make a damn mess because they filmed themselves doing it. it's sad, really, it's so sad to see people reaching the point of calling them disgusting and all that stuff, because they are doing something that's a part of their daily basis. yeah, they filmed themselves smoking weed, it was irresponsible of them due to their enormous fame, but i'm pretty sure there are other things they do and take pictures and whatsoever and it didn't leak. for me it's not a matter of being smart, it's a matter of having privacy. NO ONE should invade someone's files and leak them for the entire world to see regarding of the young fans and their parents, if it's such a bad influence, don't buy them tickets to their concert or simply ban them from interacting/listening to them i agree with everything you say here actually but i'm just piping in to say that it's not the smoking, or even the filming, that people are upset about, it's what louis said bc, well, as much as i love him, he was being kind of a dick so eh

NO ONE should invade someone's files and leak them for the entire world to see regarding of the young fans and their parents, if it's such a bad influence, don't buy them tickets to their concert or simply ban them from interacting/listening to them If you would read my previous comments you'd see I never once said they are perfect. I did say anyone who thought they didn't do certain things they probably shouldn't be doing is naive though. They were marketed in a way that has hurt them in the long run since a lot of their fans are quite young and this is not acceptable behavior. They are considered role models even if they don't want to be. I'm not telling you what to do or not to nor would I tell them what to do or not to do. I just see doing something this stupid is just that, stupid. I'm sure you're old enough to make your own choices and they certainly are, but they made a bad judgement call since whoever they shared this otherwise private video with decided to leak it and now their lawyers are involved aside from nearly every media outlet making their mark on the situation. Pressure is a part of life whether you're a celebrity or not. It's not an okay to go act like a schmuck. Louis said some pretty shitty things in that video, which is not okay by any means. I doubt he's constantly calling people bitches or the variety of other things he chose to say in the video. I think this entire ordeal was a horrible judgement call. So it is quite disgusting behavior. The blunt aside, he said things he shouldn't have said. Again, I don't condone drug use, but if you want to smoke a blunt I'm not going to stop you because that is your decision to make. I agree that it is horrible that his privacy was compromised, but again, that goes back to being his own fault since apparently the leak occurred due to who he shared it with. It had nothing to do with hacking, which is a miracle for once since it seems like they constantly have their Twitter accounts and other social media accounts hacked constantly. A bad judgement call was made and now they have to deal with the backlash, which is probably a lot of unhappy parents and some devastated fans. I have been a fan of theirs since they were on The X Factor and I'll remain a fan beyond that as long as they don't do anything really horrible, but what I deem "really horrible" could be different from what you deem "really horrible". Anyway, my point is from a journalistic standpoint since I am a journalist, I have to put my like for them aside, and point blank say Louis was definitely in the wrong. The whole situation is not a good look for them, but what he said bothers me way more than him and Zayn smoking a blunt even though that isn't legal. Also, you say you have privacy, but someone can turn against you and leak a video you wouldn't want certain people seeing like that hypothetical I made previously. It still stands. Privacy is trivial in this day and age with the social media we have. I do believe we should all have the right to privacy, but that doesn't always work out and this entire situation with Louis and Zayn is a perfect example of that. You're definitely right that parents can ban their children from listening to their music and so on, but it still stands that an uproar will be a thing presently since they're supposed to be role models whether they want to be or not. I never think it is fair to put a celebrity in that light since they are human too and obviously have flaws and make mistakes, but it all stems back to how they were first marketed; that squeaky clean image. That is what parents and many fans still expect. It's like how Miley shed her whole Hannah Montana persona. People judge her like crazy for her erratic behavior now. It's also like how Justin Bieber has been on quite the downward spiral. All of these young celebrities are looked at as role models since that is what they're labeled as off the bat between media and fans and so on. It's all part of the culture whether it's fair or not.

This is literally describing this girl in my fourth period. All she talks about is how stoned and or drunk she was and her cringe worthy sex life. Not to mention she got one dread YES ONE in her hair and refuses to put it in the rest of her ponytail as if it's not part of her hair.
