Many people smoke weed, it is what it is. But honestly, the only thing I'm a little pissed about is the racial slurs. But like most people have already said, Louis has the 'I don't give a fuck' attitude. And if he hasn't apologized yet, he probably won't. I mean, I could care less about the whole pot smoking thing, like whatever. I just really can't stand when people say racist things or disrespecting someone. i AGREE with you 100% Smoking weed is one thing, but when you disrespect people of color especially when they are your fans now that doesnt sit very well with me. And if Louis doesn't apologize because of him not "giving a fuck" well that goes to show what kind of person he is. and i refuse to support anyone with racist attitudes or who says racist things even if it was meant as a joke. so therefore Louis has loss some cool points with me. now its going to be very hard for me to listen to the boys songs or see any interviews of them because of this.

Okay, so, I just saw the video, and I really don't get why it's so big deal. They are normal guys in their 20s, they can smoke weed, get drunk, or anything. Yeah, they are famous, a lot of little girl likes them, but I don't think it gives people a right to judge. They can do whatever they want to do.
On the other hand, either this video was leaked by the boys or the management, it does say something. It could be a way for them to get out of this "saint" image, it could help people to see them just as normal as anyone. They are also people, they have mistakes, they can be crazy at times. I think if the boys didn't know about the video and the fact that it's going to get leaked, they would've apologized or said something after it got on the internet.
And on Louis's behavior... Don't tell me that you have never said something disrespectful about an other person. It could be about color, or about races, about anything. We are not saints, and they aren't saints either. We knew this all along.
So, this is a right time for us, fans to not to judge but threat them as normal people which they are.

I refuse to make an exception for him, simply because I idolize(d) him. He said an unacceptable thing and to pardon it would be contributing to the acceptance of use of racist slurs Liam has already addressed in a tweet that he and the boys are aware of this video being in the public the boys should not be pardoned or pitied (oh, poor Louis, he has to take responsibility of his actions) I personally, have never used a racist slur, in particular, that racist slur because I realize the meaning behind it as it stems from a period of extreme oppression. his (and many other people's) ignorance of this should not grant him a hall pass. I believe everyone who uses this term, who is not black, should be subject to consequence. Furthermore, because he is in such a high position in the public eye, he should be more wary of what he says (although it is evident he is not) I have never condoned the use of such disgusting language in my daily life and I will continue to not do so, no matter who Louis Tomlinson is.

And i know am not perfect either or a saint but i don't go out of my way to offend people by using offensive slurs towards them. and as much as i love Harry if he were EVER TO use a derogatory racial remark even as a joke i would loss respect for him as well. but thank God he isn't like that. at least i hope he isn't, and that is why i will continue to support Harry, Niall, and Liam, but Louis and Zayn i have to wonder about. Just because Louis Tomlinson is a celebrity doesn't give him a right to use the n word. i am sure if Louis were to hear one of his supporters using an offensive slur towards his nationality am sure that he would feel the same way that i do.

So this video doesn't actually bother me. It bothers me that it's probably going to be smack on every gossip magazine and my mom reads those (and she's religious).
But when I was seeing tweets and Instagram pictures about the whole event, it was like all these teenage fans were "burning" tickets and "burning" posters and all I could think was how immature they were.
So let me get this straight. You became a fan of a boyband who was basically thrust in the spotlight and you don't at all think this would happen?
In my opinion, I saw this coming. We already knew Zayn smoke and it wasn't that hard to figure out that he probably did weed.
Weed actually isn't bad as long as it's used wisely and while it's illegal in 99% of the states, it can be used medically still. My great-grandpa used it while he was battling cancer.
Zayn probably used it because of stress. We know how calm he is but we don't know what's going on inside his head. I'm not saying he's mental but I'm just saying.
The whole racial slur issue. I do agree what he said was wrong but how much weed had he had already? My ex-friend did weed. It made her a totally different person.
Louis is Louis though. He's got that "I don't fucking care" attitude. But I don't think our regular Louis would say that. Yes, he's rude but he's not THAT rude.
I'm not worried about it. Parents will read it and make they're young children stop listening. Which in a way can be good for the boys. They're growing up and some of these young fans need to like disappear (I'm talking about 12 and under) who think they're gonna marry them.
But it can also be bad because there is a huge chunk of their fan base. I don't know, I just really don't care about it. The best thing is to just ignore it.

Well, this is a very sticky situation.
I was not surprised to see the weed concept in the video, but Louis' comments were very shocking. I also knews that he was sassy and whatnot, but what he said was, well, awful. He should know that nowadays, racial slurs are not accepted (thank god); hell I even know some English teachers who are going to stop teaching classic stories because they contain racial slurs. The world we live in now is fortunately against racial things, and even though Louis was high when he made those comments, I think it's only right for him to make an apology for this irresponsible behavior and the things he said because I don't care who you are, saying those kinds of things is not right. It actually makes it even worse since they're part of the world's most popular boy band! I know it sucks for them, having the image of being clean and perfect when really they're just normal human beings. I get that. But why did they have to videotape that, especially with that language in it?? God knows what else they've said behind the media. This just goes to show that celebrities are not always how they appear on the screen 24/7; I'm in no way hating on Louis because, hell, I still love him, and I still look up to him, but I think he should apologize for that, although I doubt he will because he's got that attitude. I'm not going to burn down posters or whatever because that screams immaturity and I don't hate them! I just hate what Louis said!

you know its really sad how some fans are so blind and refuse to acknowledge the error of this behavior but its fine if they think that racist attitudes from the group is cool. and i thank the fans who choose to take a stand against this type of behavior who has opinions about it and not ignore or condone it. because to condone it means to accept and endorse racism.

I’m sorry, but this is really bothering me and I’ve finally decided to speak on it. So yeah, I’m not trying to start any shit with anyone but I just feel the need to say this.
So I’m seeing a lot of people, not necessarily just on here, that are greatly offended by what we think Louis said. Honestly I commend them for it because a lot of people would just shrug it off even though it’s bothering them just because he’s the Louis Tomlinson of One Direction. And I get why people are offended, I really do man. But I think, and this is just my personal opinion, that it’s getting a little out of hand; yes he might of used a racial slur but that doesn’t make him a racist. The N word is, in my opinion, one of the more complicated ones to judge. Meaning that it’s used by people of all types in different ways.
Many people always say that the word should be used by black people only, other than that it would be considered a slur. But the thing is that we can’t set rules for a word, especially in today’s society, because people say what they want- but that doesn’t mean there won’t be any consequences. Because that’s something we can control, the consequences. And I feel like the consequences should be based on the context of the word, not just on the fact that it was used because honestly not even all black people “can” use it without repercussion.
In Louis’ case, for example, their was really no connotation. He just carelessly threw it at the end of a sentence. Does that call for consequences? Sure, if you want to scold him for his carelessness do it, you have every right to in my opinion. If you want to leave the fandom over it, do it. If you want to personally send him countless letters calling him out for his carelessness do it man. Do whatever you need to do to get the point across but DON’T DON’T DON’T DON’T DON’T call him a racist. There’s no proof at all to even mildly support that assumption.

what's started to annoy me about this whole situation as of late is that everyone keeps pointing to the fact that louis is white. it makes it sound like if he'd been chinese or korean or middle-eastern or whatever else, the slur would have been okay for him to use. so if it'd been zayn who'd said it, it would have been fine? sorry but racial slurs aren't okay to throw around, regardless of what ethnicity you belong to but yeah // Nicole // you've got a point there

well whether Louis is a racist or not is not am issue for me anymore, because people are going to condone his behavior no matter what so whatever. i don't know whether to support the band or not to be honest. not that people will care whether i do or not so whatever. am done with this conversation. but whatever my decision is i will always have a place in my heart for Harry Styles. I think that is the only one out the band that i will like anyway.

Thank you, I'm happy you agree. Weed is the only drug that can't kill you, so honestly if you compare that drug to crack or cocaine, weed is not that bad. I don't care who the person is, if someone decides to be racist, they can go fuck a cow. I understand it is hard to stick with the perfect clean image, but if you want to get away from the clean perfect image, saying racist things isn't exactly a good thing to do. I don't mind that they smoke weed, just the racial slurs need to stop.

^at least someone here isn't blinded by the bands good looks and see things for what they are. I am not hating or anything but i have to^ wonder i am just another nigger to the band now? Because not only is the word offensive from a racial perspective but from an emotional standpoint it hurted me to my heart, but unfortunately some fans don't see the hurt behind those words and how real it is. so now i don't know what to do support the band or just be done with them? I dont want to punishment all the members of the band for the actions or word of one member but am at a conflict here.

flowers2014 exactly! I still love Louis, and I still like their music, that's not going to change. But he really needs to apologize. Just cause your sassy doesn't give you an excuse to go and say things like that. Sure, I guess you could say I'm sassy sometimes but I would never say anything to offend someone.

Yep guys, let's all just forget the tears the boys shed over sick African children. And all the work they did to raise money for them. Not to mention the half a million Zayn, alone, donated.
I'm not blinded by their looks or music, I'm just not going take this to the heart. I'm going to stick by them until they give me a reason to do otherwise.
