Okay, so I didn't know this but Zayn apparently left early this year. I would like to give a word on this since I missed a big discussion about it, probably.
So, I was exploring old articles and I found out he left claiming he would like to be normal for once, have a normal life and get married to Perrie . . . finally. (Except they broke up, didn't they?) But then a couple weeks later he releases a song he did solo. I'm sorry, I felt betrayed right then, he pretty much lied, that or the people who did the article made something up. He could have just said he didn't want to be part of the band anymore. (Plus, he also said he wasn't happy with One Direction.) I'm sorry, but we supported him, happy or unhappy, we were there for him. I rather him tell us straight out he was leaving. Rather than, pretty much, going behind our backs.
I lost my respect for Zayn.
On another note: His solo music isn't that good, I want to like it, but I don't. Maybe I'm used to hearing a combination of the boys' voices. Zayn's solo music is not something I would listen to. I personally think he won't make it without the band.

You're correct in all you said. Zayn did want a normal life and he did want to marry Perrie. To know that he released a record and broke-up with Perrie just isn't cool. I've even taken down my posters of the five of them and just left my large posters of Louis, Harry, Liam and Niall up. I haven't heard his music and I honestly have no desire to hear it. I love 1D's new song and I'll support them for as long as I can. Even with their hiatus coming up. I'm not sure about him being unhappy with 1D but then I guess sometimes we don't know the whole story.

He had the freedom to chose what he needed to do. It's not our place to be angry with him over his decisions. He did it to be happier. All of us knew deep down that he was miserable by the end. He released a song which wasn't really even his... it was a cover. Not a good one I admit but it was just a cover. Harry himself did solo work but no one was angry with him for it so why are we taking it out on Zayn? Because he left the band to be happier?
In the end it's him that matters. If it's what he wanted to do then let him be. We should all just want him to be happy without 'losing our respect' for him. He's doing what he believes is best for him. Would you want everyone turning against you if you were looking out for yourself? Because I imagine he wouldn't either.

I still love him btw. His choice is his choice and while I was a bit angry with him at first, I realized that there's more of a person than what they choose to show or what we choose to see. It was a bit inconsiderate of him to say that he wanted to live a normal life and it's okay to be upset. But it's been quite a while, innit? And he hasn't release any solo stuff yet, apart from that 'No Type' cover. In the end I think about the years he spent making me smile even though he's probably been unhappy for quite sometime, and now I want him to be whoever he wanted to be. He has my support. Although I must admit I'm not into RnB or Hip Hop, I'd still buy his shit.

I'm not angry, I just feel like he should have been honest with us since we have supported him for so long. I also think it was pretty dingy of him to leave in the middle of the tour, but that's probably just me. I just feel as though he should have been honest. He could have even said that he may want to start on a solo career after he broke from One Direction. If he was honest I'm sure the die-hard fans wouldn't have been so mad.

But I lost my respect and trust towards him when he lied. If he ends up actually singing good, I'll buy his music. Alls I wish was he was honest.
