So, I've never read the fanfic, and never heard of it until now, but from what I'm reading it's defintitely not something to be made into a movie. I read half of a comment on the petition and from what I understand this story is about an abusive relationship and the main girl enjoys it?
I'm sorry, but there are so many abusive relationships in the real world, and making a movie showing a story about an abusive relationship that the girl actually participates freely in is pretty stupid. Sorry, I don't know how else to explain it but it being ridiculously stupid.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about her being in the relationship freely. Like I said, I've never read the story.
I'm assuming whoever thinks this movie will be a hit because of stories/movies like Fifty Shades of Grey? Well, I don't know if this After story is just like Fifty Shades of Grey, a little better abusive wise, or worse. Either way, no movie about abuse should be aimed towards a younger audience. Fanfiction is aimed more towards a younger audience (not that we're all young, I'm actually 22 lol, but you know what I mean) and I'm sure a lot of younger readers know that this is a fanfiction and will want to watch the movie. They'll probably think that a relationship like that is okay.
I'm all for writing fanfiction, even abuse if that's what you want. That's only because us readers know that it's just that; fiction.
I feel like if this is made into a movie it's really going to cause a lot of problems. Fifty Shades was aimed towards adults. Abuse is never okay, but the story was at least aimed towards an audience that knew the difference between fiction and what is really okay in a relationship.
I'm just rambling and probably not making any sense at all. So, I'm just going to say that making this into a movie is beyond stupid.

Shouldn't all of this be taken down? I mean the book is now a published book and Harry's name had to be changed. So obviously there shouldn't be anything up that links Harry to the story. Yes, no one will know it's about Harry....el oh el. instagram.com/imaginator1d

Yes, no one will know it's about Harry....el oh el. instagram.com/imaginator1dI get what you're saying. And I agree but even if the names are changed and the story removed from the net - as I believe it will have to be as the storyline will be the exact same - even if she wrote it. But it's apparently not a very good story - I've read about one chapter of Fifty Shades and found the girl to be so one dimensional - and if I see After in a bookstore I'll look at it - but I'm not likely to buy it. The reason we're talking is that we think it wasn't good enough. Not like the other book that was published earlier in the year. I hadn't read that one either - but from what I read on the thread about it, it was a really good story. It's just our opinion obviously other people love it, but we don't. Good luck to Anna Todd though and I wish her all success - just not sure about this book.

stormyskies I read like 1/4 of the first chapter of After and stopped reading. So, I'm not sure if it gets better or not. Most authors only get their books published by having the first few chapters read, and from that first chapter I don't see how it got published. In my opinion, just by reading that much of it, you would assume it only got published by looking at the number of readers, not by the actual writing. Who knows, though.
