I just, I feel bad for those people. They are clearly idiots living under a rock (.....Patrick Star....).
Did they not recognize those "unidentified pals", like lol.

They are getting paid to do a job. It's like 'errrrrr how about doing 2 minutes of strenuous and mentally challenging Googling before you dribble forth your ignorance onto the internet? No? Ah well, just a suggestion...' I've commented on it, but they haven't 'approved' the comment yet (poss bc it makes them look a bit durrr?)

Haha Niall called the story 'lazy journalism' on his Twitter and they've since removed it… It's all over the place so even though they removed it the damage is already done. I think it is safe to say the Daily Mail has never truly been a credible source so it is kind of expected for them to fall short. Their main competition is The Sun I believe, which also tends to get things wrong so this isn't really surprising. Most tabloid-esque publications don't necessarily concentrate on fact or truth. They just want buzz to come surrounding their publication. Although I will say as a journalist sometimes we even get things wrong. While I was an intern a few years ago I was given the incorrect information regarding One Direction's single, "Gotta Be You." I was told it was called "Got To Be You" so after my blog was posted on the website for the publications I was interning for at the time a lot of angry fans insisted we at the magazines were clueless since the proper title was released and obviously went against what I wrote, but we were given the wrong information at the time so it wasn't entirely our fault that we got it wrong. Sometimes mistakes do happen, but the Daily Mail is far off from an innocent mistake. They really seem to be lazy in regard to this story.

To be fair I just thought it was funny. It's nice to see 5sos in the news, even if it's not as themselves! The DMs mistake gave us lols and didn't hurt anyone, so fair play

It is rather amusing. It's just sad though that the Daily Mail is trying to report on Niall, but failed miserably in doing so. It's so obvious that Michael and Niall look nothing alike too so it's just like, 'what was that reporter thinking?', ya know? I'm sure 5SOS will be gaining tons of news coverage now that they're signed to Capitol and will be releasing a full-length album soon probably.
